Latest Fast 8 trailer shows… autonomous cars

We’re inching ever closer to the expected introduction of The Fate of the Furious movie in theaters around the world, so the eighth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise keeps things rolling with a new… trailer.

The unbelievable action saga hits theaters on April 14, 2017 and this new, extended three-minute clip shows some of the same scenes from the older trailers – including the fact that Dom betrays his family (yeah, right, that must be straightened out by the end) and the ongoing idea that you need lots of explosions when your scenario has been bombed. And while we’re not adept at knowing everything that happens in a movie from the trailers (remember Bats versus Supes and its negative fan reaction?!) – we do see some additional clues of the final plot. For example, and we hope this is not prophetic – we see Charlize Theron (as beautiful as ever) setting the world on fire with weaponized autonomous vehicles.

Vin Diesel is backed by its regular “army” of people without characters but full of stereotypes. We see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (did you know he’s pulling a Mitch Buchannon on David Hasselhoff in the new Baywatch movie), Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Michelle Rodriguez, while also serving up rather fresh faces such as Jason Statham, Hellen Mirren, and Scott Eastwood. The action is again a globetrotting affair – hitting New York, Iceland, Cuba, and strangely enough, Cleveland, Ohio.
